Estoy empezando a leer “Bajo Presión” y ya me siento identificado con tus ideas. Me agrada saber que mis sospechas sobre la saturación que viven los niños/as de nuestra época tiene sustento.
Vivo en León, Guanajuato, México y escribo en diarios locales. Ahí escribí hace tiempo estos artículos que tienen mucho que ver con tus ideas. “Ninos estresados”, lo escribí al descubrir tu libro en internet, la reseña me llevó a comprarlo y hoy estoy muy interesado en su lectura.

Hi Carl:
Finally got around to reading your book “In Praise of Slow”. Loved reading it and made me realize that the way I think and do things is much like what you describe in your book. The idea that one does their best thinking when at rest or doing nothing is absolutely true - my best eureka moments are when looking out the window in public transit or when I head to bed. There is something to be said for slowing down and enjoying things - if one does too many things do you really enjoy any of them? That includes the speed of information that we get today - why do we need instantaneous news reports? Many times the initial reports are false anyway - I’d rather wait to make sure the information I get is correct before I make any rash/incorrect decisions.

Buying both books for a number of my fellow educators and friends as well. Many of us have known for a long time that we have been barking up the wrong tree both educationally and in our own too busy lives as well. Carl has hit it right on the target. Thank you for your gift of Sanity!

Hello Carl, and hello to the others who wrote or are reading !!!
I live in the north of France.
I read your book. And I liked it, not because it changes my point of vue, but because I know now that I am not the only one thinking that we live in a crazy world. “walking on the head” as we should say in France.
Actually, I am writing this comment to ask if there is anyone or, if you know someone searching for help to plan a project whitch work in that slow (mouvement) planet in South america. Because I would like to help there.
I know that sound a little bit silly, but I really want to do something for the planet, and exchanging with other people, from other land could learn to me a lot.

Actualmente tengo entre manos el libro BAjo Presión. Me está ayudando mucho a corregir ciertas conductas que, como madre de tres niños pequeños están haciendo nuestra vida más dificil de lo que debería ser una familia normal y sin grandes problemas. ´
Tengo la suerte de que mis hijos asistan al Colegio de la Safa de ubeda, dónde se trabaja con proyectos exclusivamente entre los 3 y los 6 años. Se está intentando hacer así en el resto de niveles pero la presión por parte de los padres la tradición , política etc… es muy fuerte para poder asumir los cambios.
La presión social sobre los juegos de alta tecnología tambien me resulta, a veces, casi insuperable. Mis hijos parecen marcianos: En casa no hay ni un sólo juguete electronico ni de alta tecnología, ni pantallitas. A veces usan el ordenador con juegos educativos.
Tambien quería comentarle que he descubierto el “cuboro”. Un juego de tacos de madera de factura Suiza que es genial para la manipulación, coordinación ojo mano, desarrollo de figuras espaciales y recorridos de una canica sobre los conductos que forman los diferentes tacos de madera. Este juego llega a enganchas a chicos y grandes, y quizás pueda destacar las ventajas de este juguete en alguno de sus libros. Le aconsejo que lo vea.

Gracias por su mail, Valle. Me alegra mucho que el libro le esté ayudando a cambiar cosas en su familia.
Tiene razón que hay mucha inercia, tanto en los colegios como en la mente de muchos padres. Pero sigo siendo optimista. Creo que podemos revolucionar la niñez para que los chicos tengan una infancia que merezca el nombre.
Me encanta el cuburo. Le eché un vistaze en Google y me parece genial. Gracias por señalarmelo.
